SEKIRANUN-1

Fresh off her summer debut at Anime Expo 2011, I recently had a chance to listen to Sony’s double single “Sekiranun Graffiti” CD featuring Miku Hatsune with two singles one from “Ryo (supercell)” and the other one by “Dixie Flatline”. The CD contains five tracks which are:

1. Sekiranun Graffiti by Ryo (supercell) feat Miku Hatsune

2. Fallin’ Fallin’ Fallin’ by Dixie Flatline feat Miku Hatsune

3. Sekiranun Graffiti [remixed by Baker] by Ryo (supercell) feat Miku Hatsune

4. Sekiranun Graffiti [instrumental] by Ryo (supercell) feat Miku Hatsune

5. Fallin’ Fallin’ Fallin’ [instrumental] by Dixie Flatline feat Miku Hatsune

The first track has an anime opening feel to it with the strong drum kick while Miku voice sounds smooth compared to all her other songs. The chorus is sung by Vocaloids Luka Megurine and Len Kagamine, which were hard to hear, but they are there. The second track has an upbeat techno sound to it while the voice sounds more of a synthesized version of Miku from her more popular songs. The next track is a remixed version of the opening track which focused more on the beats while minimizing the vocals to the background. When I listened to this track I could see this playing in the background of a maid café or a nightclub, which I actually liked. The next two tracks are the instrumental versions of “Sekiranun Graffiti” and “Fallin’ Fallin’ Fallin’”.

The track that I enjoyed the most was “Sekiranun Graffitit” by Ryo (supercell) and the remixed version by “Baker”. This track sounds like it can be played in a club and I wouldn’t be surprised if next time I go to an event in “Royal T” maid café to hear this playing. Overall, I would buy this CD for just one song, but since it comes with two singles I would recommend it to all Miku fans. I know that they would enjoy both songs, but if you’re not a Miku fan then skip this CD. Also the second song “Fallin’ Fallin’ Fallin’” could have used a remixed version.

The single is also available through Sony Music Direct on Apple’s iTunes and Amazon.

Pros:

  • Two singles on one CD
  • Miku Hatsune fans would like it

Cons

  • No remix for “Fallin’ Fallin’ Fallin’”
