NIS America, the same company that brought you Generation of Chaos: Pandora’s Reflection, is now introducing the latest installment to the Black Rock Shooter franchise - Black Rock Shooter: The Game for the PlayStation Portable. Luckily, fans in North America will have been able to purchase the game on the PlayStation Network on April 23rd while many European fans will have been able to purchase it on April 24th. Unfortunately, the game will not be released in Canada, Mexico, and some European countries.
Black Rock Shooter: The Game is a single player RPG originally released in Japan on August 25, 2011. Now, nearly two years later, the game has finally made its way into our fingertips! Prepare yourselves.
In the year 2032, the earth and human population have been undergoing 19 years of destruction due to aliens. Billions of people have died, with humanity nearly extinct – only 12 humans survive.
You play as Black Rock Shooter, a mysterious black haired girl with a blazing blue eye, who is also an ultimate battle android with great weaponry. The human survivors awaken the android to help them battle the aliens.
The battles throughout the game are fast paced, which builds excitement every time you face an enemy. You are able to navigate through decaying cities and alien structures; complete missions in order to awaken more skills and combinations. Thankfully, you are also helping the remaining survivors by completing a variety of missions which unlock essential items for their survival, such as guns and costumes. Interestingly enough, BRS can also ‘level up’ to equip herself with a set of attacks and skills. Seems like she would be a good challenge for Erza Scarlet.
Over 99% of the human population has been annihilated. Humanity currently consists of only 12 people. A few survivors, and one powerful android, against countless aliens for the survival of earth – talk about intensity! Black Rock Shooter: The Game sounds like a unique adventure.
I’ll be back soon. I’m going to save the remaining 12 survivors from complete extinction.
