The legendary Blue-Eyes

Fans who waited every Saturday morning to watch the classic Yu-Gi-Oh! series on Kids WB – as their parents were sound asleep will be excited to hear about New Video Group’s new release of Yu-Gi-Oh! Classic: Season 1, coming out on September 10th.

The release will contain six discs, have a run time of over 1,000 minutes, and hold the complete first season in one box set, but it will not contain the original Japanese audio or Japanese subtitles. Fans will be happy to hear that the complete first season will be at a retail price of $28.96 – different than FUNimation’s previous release of the series which is currently listed from $299 – $899 on Amazon.

For those who love the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, you’ll definitely love the cover art for season 1. But, if you’re not a fan of the BEWD and prefer a more distinctive cover art, than you’re in for a treat. YGO season 1 will also be released in two separate box sets for those who prefer a smaller set and enjoy the assortment of cover art, which includes: Yami Yugi alongside Seto Kaiba in Season 1 Vol. 1 and Yami Yugi alongside Pegasus in Season 1 Vol. 2.

As for the price difference, the separate box sets are listed for $19.99 each while the complete set is listed for $28.96. If bought separately, it would be an $11 increase. The sets are currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

Already pre-ordered YGO season 1 and waiting for the next one? No problem. You can now pre-order Yu-Gi-Oh! Classic: Season 2, coming out on November 5th.
