Teased earlier this year, details on Ghost in the Shell: Arise were presented in Tokyo yesterday via a launch event held by Bandai Visual.

Arise will be released theatrically in Japan as four 50-minute episodes. The first episode, border 1: Ghost Pain, will be in Japanese theaters on June 22nd. The series is a prequel to GitS and focuses on a young Motoko Kusanagi, who will be voiced by singer/actress Maaya Sakamoto.
