NIS America has announced that they’ll be releasing the third season of shojo supernatural drama/comedy Natsume’s Book of Friends (aka Natsume Yujin-cho San) on DVD and Blu-ray this coming March.

This will be a Premium Edition, containing all 13 episodes of the season on 2 DVDs and 2 Blu-rays with Japanese audio and English subtitles. It will also come with a collectible hardcover art book containing detailed character info, an episode guide, rough sketches, and Japanese DVD package illustrations.

Natsume’s Book of Friends follows high school student Takashi Natsume and his maneki neko-shaped guardian, Nyanko-sensei, as they befriend and help yokai (Japanese monsters and demons) of all shapes and sizes (as well as exorcise a few bad ones) in the Japanese countryside. It’s slice-of-life mixed with supernatural adventure and has some comedy thrown in. We’ve reviewed the first two seasons, but haven’t had a chance to check out this third one just yet.

Based on the  manga from Yuki Midorikawa, Natsume Yujin-cho is currently in its 14th volume in the States. The fourth season of the anime aired earlier this year, but no word yet on a DVD release for that one, although it’s likely to happen.

The Natsume’s Book of Friends Season 3 Premium Edition set will be retailing for $69.99 from all the usual places. All four seasons of the anime can also be found streaming on Crunchyroll.
